5 kg rice per capita to be provided in orissa by march 2022
orissa chief minister naveen patnaik ji has directed to distribute an additional 5 kg of rice per person to the beneficiaries of the state food security scheme on 11th december, 2021. this distribution will be provided free of cost for 4 months. additional rice will be provided to all the beneficiaries of the scheme by march, 2022. due to this distribution, the beneficiaries enrolled in the food security scheme will get the same benefit as the national food security act. the families of 915532 families registered under the scheme will be benefitted 288528. 45.71 tonnes of rice will be distributed to the beneficiaries per month. a total of 18310.64 tonnes of rice will be provided to the beneficiaries for 4 months. 68.13 crore will be spent by the government.
mega campaign for ration distribution to be held in uttar pradesh
on 12th december, 2021, it has been decided by the government of uttar pradesh to launch a mega campaign for ration distribution. the state government has informed that this campaign is the largest ration distribution drive in the country so far. the benefits of this campaign will be provided directly to antyodaya and domestic ration card holders. under this campaign, double ration will be distributed to antyodaya ration card holders and eligible families. this ration will be distributed to more than 15 crore ration card holders. all mps and mlas have been instructed to monitor the campaign.
the campaign will also benefit the economically weaker citizens, labourers and farmers of the state. in addition, the up government will also provide free wheat and rice twice a month to ration card holders. food, oil and salt will also be provided free of cost through ration shops.

pm to interact with beneficiaries of the scheme
on 5th august, 2021, the beneficiaries of garib kalyan yojana will be interacted with by the prime minister of our country, shri narendra modiji. under the scheme, ration distribution process is going to start from 5th august, 2021 and van mahotsav will also be organized. on this occasion, the beneficiaries of selected fair price shops of varanasi, gorakhpur, moradabad, hamirpur, ayodhya, barabanki, shahjahanpur, kaushambi, agra and bahraich will be interacted with through video conferencing. about 100 beneficiaries will be present at each fair price shop on the van mahotsav and television arrangements will also be ensured at fair price shops. so that the beneficiaries present there can watch the conversation. the district supply and diversion officer has been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring availability of foodgrains at each fair price shop.

foodgrains provided to nfsa beneficiaries in may 2021 and june 2021
under pradhan mantri garib kalyan yojana, more than 63.67 lakh mt of foodgrains have been procured from fci depots by states and union territories. foodgrains have been distributed by the central government to 55 crore nfsa beneficiaries in about 34 states and union territories in may, 2021. this foodgrain distribution is about 28 lakh metric tonnes. in addition, about 1.3 lakh metric tonnes of foodgrains have been distributed to 2.6 crore nfsa beneficiaries in june 2021. covid protocol has been fully followed while distributing manure. foodgrains have been distributed to beneficiaries of nfsa at 90% and 12% (respectively) under the national food security act in may and june 2021. 13,000 crores has been spent by the government.

these include andaman and nicobar islands, assam, bihar, chhattisgarh, daman diu, delhi, gujarat, haryana, himachal pradesh, jammu and kashmir, jharkhand, karnataka, ladakh, madhya pradesh, maharashtra, manipur, odisha, rajasthan, sikkim, tamil nadu, uttar pradesh, uttarakhand and west bengal. 100% of the allocation has also been lifted by 5 states of north-east. these five states include arunachal pradesh, meghalaya, mizoram, nagaland and tripura. lifting of foodgrains by manipur and assam is also in progress and 100% offtake will be done by these states soon.

NEW INSURANCE COVER FOR CORONA WARRIORS UNDER PMGKY
Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana was launched by the Central Government on 26th March, 2020 keeping in view the poor during corona epidemic under which various facilities were provided to the people of the country. But during the announcement made on Monday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has claimed to settle the present claims of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana by April 24, 2021 to construct new cover for Corona Warriors. In a tweet about corona warrior, the Ministry said that the insurance cover available under the PMGKY will be disposed of by 24th April, 2021 and a new distribution will be provided to Corona Warriors soon thereafter.

ecr required to avail garib kalyan yojana benefits
there are many institutions all over india which have filled the declaration for it, but there are many institutions which have not yet submitted the ecr. due to which they are not getting the benefit of garib kalyan yojana. all institutions which have not yet filed ecr can avail of the scheme by filing ecr faster.
all the members who have already filled the ecr before the scheme is implemented will also get the benefit of the scheme. at the same time, there are many members who have not updated their aadhaar kyc. the department is being informed to update its aadhaar by contacting such members. please, all the members who are not getting the benefit of the scheme due to non-updating of aadhaar kyc should get their aadhaar kyc updated at the earliest and avail the benefits of the scheme.
