E Shram Card-E-Labour Card
The e-Shram portal has been launched by Union Employment Minister Bhupinder Yadav. Through E Shram Card, a National Database of 38 crore unorganized sector workers will be created which will be seeded from Aadhaar. This will connect the labourers, street vendors and domestic workers together. The portal will record the name, address, educational qualification, type of skill, family related information etc. In addition to connecting the workers together, a variety of facilities will also be provided to them through e Shram Card. 3.9 crore workers don't have account linked to aadhaar
as on 29th october, 2021, 5.29 crore unorganized sector workers have been registered on the e-shram portal. as per the information provided by all these registered workers, the bank accounts of 74.78% or 3.9 crore workers are not linked to aadhaar. aadhaar card is available with all these labourers. under any government scheme, it is mandatory for the beneficiary to have an account linked to aadhaar for availing benefits or subsidies. if the beneficiary's bank account is not linked to aadhaar, subsidy is not provided to them in the account. the directorate general of labour welfare, which handles the e-shram portal, has now started directing different banks to ensure that their bank accounts are linked to aadhaar. the registration process will pick up as soon as the accounts of all the workers are linked to aadhaar.

The target for e Shram Card is to register more than 38 crore informal sector workers by March, 2022. The portal also mandates unorganized sector workers to enter their details such as their current employment status, skill type, family details, address, location etc. The database of all registered workers will reach the government through e-shram portal. So that the benefits of various welfare schemes will be extended to the workers by the Government.

E-Shram Portal Launched - e Shram Card
e-shram portal has been launched by the government to create a database of unorganized sector workers. the portal has been launched by the ministry of employment and labour. 4.04 crore has been approved by the government for registration of unorganized sector workers under this portal. the workers are not required to pay any fee to register themselves on the portal. workers can register directly through this portal or through the app. in addition, workers can also get assistance from csc centre. ₹20 per registration will be provided to csc centres by the government of india.

The main objective of E-Shram Portal is to create a centralized database of all unorganized sector workers including construction workers, migrant labour gig and platform workers, street vendors, domestic workers, agricultural labourers etc. The e-Shram Portal has also been launched with the objective of improving the implementation of social security schemes. about 1.55 lakh post offices are operated under the department of posts. these post offices provide aadhaar based services all over india. the post office will act as a enrolment agency on the lines of csc spv.

private sector participation such as employers of unorganized workers, gig and platform aggregators, milk unions, unorganized workers working with cooperativesocieties will be registered by the ministry. in addition, open api will also be published for wide use of private sector.

the unorganized workers social security act 2008
about 88% of the workers work in the unorganized sector. but they do not get social security benefits. welfare schemes are run by the central government for specific groups of unorganized workers such as beedi workers, building and construction workers etc. these schemes are implemented to provide social security to all these workers. for which the organization worker social security act has also been enacted.
the contract labour act 1970
contract worker is a person who is hired to work in a company through a contractor for a specific work and period. contractors are appointed by companies who employ workers. the contract labour act, 1970 is enacted to prevent abuse of the workers of the establishment and to ensure a healthy working environment for them.
inter state migrant workmen act 1979
business security is provided in case of work through this act. the act applies to establishments and contractors employing five or more international workers during any day in the last 12 months. the act also provides for registration of establishment and licence for contractor.
the minimum ways act, 1948
the act has been introduced to improve wage standards. a minimum wage has been fixed through this act to protect the workers from low wages.
the branded labour systems act 1976
in order to meet his debt, bonded labour was paid by the debtor or his descendant or dependent to meet his loan. such bonded labour has been criminalised through this act. the system of bonded labour has been abolished for which an ordinance was also issued by the president.
the code on social security 2020
the objective of the social security act, including, is to provide social security to all employees and workers in the organized or unorganized or other sector. the law relating to social security has been amended and consolidated through this code.
the code on ways 2019
this code seeks to regulate wage and bonus payments in all employments where an industry, business, business or construction is carried out. this code applies to all employees. the wages fixed by the central government are provided for the workers working in the central sector and the wages fixed by the state government are provided for the workers working in the state government sector.
the occupational safety, health and working condition code, 2020
the code regulates the professional safety and health and working conditions of the workers working. this code has been introduced in place of 13 old central labour laws.
industrial relation code 2020
through this code, laws relating to terms of employment, investigation and settlement of industrial disputes are consolidated and amended. the code has been prepared as per the report and recommendations of the second national labour commission.
Various schemes under E Shram Portal
social security welfare scheme
pradhan mantri shram yogi mandhan yojana
through this scheme, a minimum pension of ₹3000 is provided to the beneficiary after completing the age of 60 years. if the beneficiary dies, the beneficiary's spouse is provided 50% pension share. in case of availing the benefitof the scheme, the beneficiary will have to pay a premium per month which will be between ₹55 to ₹200. 50% of the premium amount will be deposited by the beneficiary and 50% will be deposited by the central government.
national pension scheme for shopkeepers, traders and self employed persons
under the scheme, a minimum pension of ₹3000 is provided to the beneficiary after the age of 60 years. in case of availing the benefits of the scheme, the beneficiary has to pay a premium of ₹55 to ₹200. 50% of the premium amount is deposited by the beneficiary and 50% is borne by the central government.
pradhan mantri jeevan jyoti bima yojana
the scheme is implemented by the department of financial services. the benefit of this scheme is provided by the bank. in case of death of the beneficiary due to any reason, ₹2000000 are provided to the nominee of the beneficiary under the scheme.
pradhan mantri suraksha bima yojana
under the scheme, if the beneficiary dies due to an accident or the beneficiary is completely disabled, an amount of ₹200000 is ₹ provided.
atal pension yojana
under the scheme, pension ranging from ₹1000 to ₹5000 is provided to the beneficiary. a lump sum amount of pension is also provided to the spouse of the beneficiary under the scheme after the death of the beneficiary.
PDS
35 kg of rice or wheat per month is provided to the beneficiary through this scheme. 15 kg of food is provided to a family living above the poverty line.
pradhan mantri awas yojana - grameen
1.2 lakh in the plane area for construction of the house and rs. 1.3 lakh in hilly area.
national social assistant programme
it is a pension scheme. the scheme is to pay a premium of 300 to ₹500 per month. under the scheme, pension ranging from ₹1000 to ₹3000 is provided.
ayushman bharat pradhan mantri jan arogya yojana
through this scheme, health insurance upto ₹500000 is provided to each family without paying any premium.
health insurance scheme for weavers

national sanitation karamchari finance and development corporation
financial assistance is provided to safai karamcharis through this scheme.
self employment scheme for rehabilitation of manual scavengers
